A question I get asked ALL the time – by far my top Dubsado FAQs! It’s a good question because, on the surface, both platforms do the same thing. Both allow you to send emails, sign contracts, and create automations.
If you want simplicity and quick setup, HoneyBook is a solid option, but if you’re looking for more customization and automation, Dubsado is the better long-term solution.
Dubsado lets you fully brand your client experience (including white-labeled emails), automate complex workflows, and tailor every touchpoint to your business. It has a steeper learning curve, but the payoff is a more polished, scalable, and strategic backend.

Yes, in the best way. They won’t necessarily say “Wow, your Dubsado is amazing!” but they will say things like “This was so easy!” or “I really appreciated how organized and clear everything was.” We don’t actually want them to know you are using a system, but we do want to make it easy for them to inquire, make payments, sign contracts, and stay informed. That’s the mark of a thoughtful client experience.
Dubsado does have a learning curve. Most of my clients say it takes them about a week to feel comfortable using their new system after I have set it up for them. Because it is a robust system, there is a lot to learn.
The answer is, it depends. Dubsado allows you to add team members to your account. You can assign tasks to specific people on your team or allow them full access to help manage your clients.
You are, however, only allowed to connect one calendar. If you need meetings with multiple team members and need to check their availability, Dubsado would not be a good fit for you. (Read more about multi-user roles here.)
Dubsado can do the basics like track how much money is made off of a specific package, but it is not meant to be a bookkeeping software. I recommend connecting Xero or QuickBooks. It integrates beautifully! Learn more about the integrations here.

You will pay a yearly subscription of $400 for the Premier plan, but Dubsado does not have any additional charges or fees. They have partnered with Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, and Affirm to process payments securely. These will have standard fees and pricing based on your location.
I highly recommend using Dubsado Payments with Stripe. It’s the only processor that offers ACH payments with a maximum fee of just $5. Plus, in most states, you have the option to add a surcharge to pass that fee along to your clients if you choose. Learn more here.
You’re not locked into anything. Your business will evolve, and your Dubsado system can evolve with it. I build your setup to be flexible and teach you how to update it as your offers, packages, or processes shift. Most clients feel comfortable doing this themselves once everything is set up! It is a lot easier to tweak once it’s set up.
You’re not alone! Dubsado can be overwhelming without the right steps. It is also very hard to do for yourself. Not only do you have to learn the system, but you have to then actually create everything, like write 20+ emails, create and design proposals, package templates, etc.
The difference here is setup with support. I don’t just build a workflow, I help you understand it, use it, and trust it, so you never have to second-guess your systems again.
